Sometimes life takes unexpected turns, some good and some not. Our ability to deal with them can vary depending on the state of mind we are in when facing these turns. God knows I have had my share of unexpected curves down my path. Some have been great and others have been life altering. Overall, I am grateful for the experiences I have encountered. They have put me in a place of deeper understanding and appreciation for what is truly important to keep during my existence here.
Upon looking at the bigger picture, global warming, wars, genocide, corrupt governments, natural catastrophes, etc., my life experiences seem so insignificant. Yet, the pain still exists when something bad and unexpected happens.
In steps “Change“. It is not by choice, but change happens and I must learn to flow with its current. It is learning to navigate this current on the river of life that can lead to personal growth. Change starts to peel away layers of my emotions and intellect stripping me down to my very core. It is from here, from my very core, that I embark on a new journey into the unknown. Being mindful of the choices I make, for I will have to live with the effects of them in my life.
